POMONA — The West Franklin High School girls basketball team is having trouble getting into its offense. The Falcons turn the ball over against pressure.

The Falcons also have a hard time hitting shots, which makes for a bad combination. West Franklin fell 38-14 to Council Grove Tuesday in Pomona.

West Franklin coach Kyle Conley said his team needs to take care of the basketball better.

The Falcons play Friday at Herington.

BURLINGTON — The Central Heights girls ran up against a top-flight squad in Burlington Tuesday on its home floor.

Central Heights coach Scott Lane liked how the Vikings competed/

“Even though we fell way short in points, I am very pleased with the effort and the aggressiveness of the girls,” he said. “We went after every loose ball and played with the passion that we have to play with day end and day out.                 “Burlington has a great team and coach Doug Stewart and his staff are doing a great job. I can’t imagine that we will play a better team than that the rest of the year.”
