POMONA — With fall classes on the horizon, West Franklin schools are preparing to welcome students back.
Enrollment for all grades and schools is expected to be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at West Franklin High School, 511 E. Franklin, Pomona. If parents or students are unable to attend, they should call their school’s secretary and schedule a time to enroll, Cherree Keeton, food service director, said.
Kindergarten and new students will need social security cards, immunization records, a certified birth certificate and a completed physical form to enroll, school officials said.
The first day of school for all students is Aug. 19. It will be a full day, with classes 8:10 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
• Elementary schools: breakfast, $1.40; lunch, $2.35.
• Middle school and high school: breakfast, $1.45; lunch, $2.45.
• Adult: breakfast, $1.90; lunch, $3.35.
Applications for free and reduced lunches are available during enrollment and should be returned before the start of school.
Book rental and fees
The textbook fee for all students is $50; the technology fee is $15.
Athletic passes are available for families for $50 and $20 for individual passes. Passes cover all district home games.
Additional fees will be charged for high school students taking elective courses.
Bus information, including bus number and driver, is expected to be given to all students and family members the day of enrollment.
