A recent rash of thefts involving about 40 incidents has caught the attention of local law enforcement.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating more than three dozen burglary and theft incidents in Franklin County since Jan. 1. Most of the crimes have taken place during the daytime, with more than $100,000 in property stolen.
Among the items taken: jewelry, fence chargers, a 1984 Dodge Ram pickup, welders, chainsaws, air compressors, battery chargers, weed control chemicals, fence posts, wheels/tires, mini bikes, power washers, large riding mowers, a Sturm Ruger .22 LR Mark III Target pistol, televisions, welders, a tattoo gun, camcorders, cameras, prescription pills, tools, horse saddles, air conditioners, copper wire, four wheelers, hunting bows, handguns, a 1990 Chevrolet extended cab truck white/blue in color, drills, table saws and electric heaters.
