POMONA — The Falcon boys got their tourney play off to a good start Thursday night, pulling a 50-24 win over Oskaloosa.

“Overall, we played a decent game offensively,” West Franklin coach James Spencer said. “We need to do a little better on our defensive game.”

Spencer said the boys heated up on rebounds during the night’s matchup, also noting Brady Geist’s three 3-point shots of the game.

Geist was the night’s top scorer, racking up 17 points. He was followed close behind by Matt Gray with 13.

“We’re definitely headed in the right direction,” Spencer said.

West Franklin (2-1) plays again 6:30 p.m. Friday at Valley Falls.
