Davis Road is tentatively scheduled to close April 15 during the duration of a project to add turning lanes and a stoplight at the intersection of Davis and K-68 on Ottawa’s east side, according to city officials and the project’s contractor.

The road is scheduled to reopen in mid-September, officials said.

Primary changes for the intersection are to add a turn lane on Davis Road and turn lanes on K-68, allowing easier access onto Davis Road — the main route leading into the city’s industrial park. A camera-controlled traffic signal also is being installed at the intersection, which officials said should “greatly assist” in clearing traffic from the congested intersection, particularly during high-traffic periods associated with shift changes at the industrial park.

While Davis Road is closed, trucks will be able to access the industrial park via a detour route on Montana Road.

Killough Construction Inc., 3633 U.S. 59, Ottawa, is the project’s contractor.
