Police Department Arrests

• 1:58 p.m. Friday, 200 block of South Ash Street, Jacob Schell, 26, Olathe, on suspicion of causing a disturbance and on a Franklin County warrant.

• 8 a.m. Friday, Pizza Time, 208 S. Main St., Justin Starkey, 32, Ottawa, on suspicion of theft by deception.

• 12:55 a.m. Saturday, 600 block of North Oak Street, Joshua Finch, 22, Ottawa, was cited and released on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

• 1:36 a.m. Saturday, 1400 block of South Oak Street, Katie Bussen, 25, Ottawa, on suspicion of battery, criminal damage to property, resisting arrest and battery on a law enforcement officer. Bussen allegedly battered three Ottawa women and broke a necklace while the women were riding in a taxi cab, according to a police report. Bussen then allegedly resisted arrest and battered officers, according to the report.

• 2:38 a.m. Monday, 500 block of East K-68, Charles Rockhold, 28, Pomona, on a Franklin County warrant after being stopped for a traffic infraction.• 1:07 p.m. Sunday, 500 block of South Hickory Street, Jordan Masingale, 19, Ottawa, was cited and released on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

• 12:21 p.m. Sunday, 300 block of South Elm Street, an Ottawa woman, no age given, reported someone damaged the rear passenger window of her 2004 Volkswagen Jetta. Damage was estimated at $300.

• 1:21 p.m. Sunday, 300 block of North Ransom Street, Richmond, a 42-year-old Richmond woman reported her 21-year-old boyfriend broke a glass vase during an argument. The boyfriend left the scene before officers arrived and had not been located, according to the report.

• 3:58 p.m. Sunday, Franklin County Jail, 305 S. Main St., Leroy McCullick, 26, Milo, Mo., allegedly damaged the ceiling, a camera lense cover and the wall in a holding cell at the jail.


• 8:52 p.m. Sunday, 1500 block of U.S. 59 in Franklin County, a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Galen Ryman, 20, Garnett, was northbound on U.S. 59 when it swerved to miss a deer and went off the road into a tree line. No injuries were reported.

• 4:58 a.m. Saturday, 1100 block of West 17th Street, a 30-year-old Ottawa woman was taken into protective custody after allegedly making suicidal comments via text messages.

• 2 p.m. Saturday, 1000 block of South Walnut Street, Tori Cantrell, 34, Ottawa, was issued a citation on suspicion of harboring a vicious animal after the dog bit a 38-year-old Ottawa woman.

• 11:58 p.m. Saturday, 600 block of South Main Street, an Ottawa male juvenile told police he was battered by unknown suspects.

• 1:46 p.m. Sunday, 400 block of South Locust Street, a 23-year-old Ottawa woman reported her 22-year-old Ottawa boyfriend battered her a few weeks ago. A report has been forwarded to the Franklin County Attorney’s Office.

Theft Reports

• Friday, no time given, Adamson Brothers, 100 S. Walnut St., a 51-year-old Ottawa man reported an unknown suspect stole gasoline from a vehicle.

• 4:33 p.m. Saturday, 800 block of East Ninth Street, a 49-year-old Ottawa woman reported an unknown person used her credit card information to purchase items.

• 8 a.m. Sunday, Great Southern Bank, 2040 S. Princeton St., a 30-year-old Ottawa woman reported a known suspect received money by deception. The case is under investigation.  

• 7:56 p.m. Sunday, 1100 block of West 15th Street, a 19-year-old Ottawa woman reported an unknown suspect stole money from her purse while she was at work.
