The Ottawa University menís soccer team battled Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference kingpin Kansas Wesleyan to a scoreless tie Saturday at Peoples Bank Field.

The Kansas Weslesyan women nipped the Lady Braves, 2-1, with two goals eight minutes apart.

The Ottawa men gave Wesleyan its best match of the season. Ottawa held a potent Wesleyan attack to five shots on goal and total of eight shots. Ottawa keeper Drinnan Sante had four saves.

Ottawa (3-1-3) finished with eight shots on goal.

It was a classic Ottawa-Wesleyan womenís match. Ottawa scored first on Jordan Tapiaís goal off an assist from Morgan Trupp in the 52nd minute.

Kansas Wesleyan scored two goals in the next eight minutes. Ottawa put pressure on the Wesleyan defense in the final 30 minutes.

Ottawa (9-6-1, 5-2) finished with six shots on goal.

Ottawa plays 6/8:30 p.m. Saturday at home against Tabor.
