Judy M. Hutchcraft, 76, Rantoul, Kan., died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Olathe Medical Center.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. The family plans to meet with friends after the service. Inurnment is planned for a later date at Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, Kan.
She was born Saturday, June 20, 1936, in Tower City, N.D., the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle (Henderson) Baasch Sr.
Judy grew up in North Dakota, living in Tower City, Page and Oriska, N.D. She moved to Olathe, Kan., in 1959, and later lived in several western Kansas communities.
She attended city and country schools in Oriska.
She was united in marriage with Douglas Hutchcraft July 8, 1980, in Paola, Kan. He survives of the home.
After her marriage to Doug, they lived in Osawatomie and Greeley, moving to Rantoul, Kan., in 2009.
Judy worked as a certified medical aide at nursing homes in Wellsville, Ottawa, Louisburg and Spring Hill, Kan.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Hutchcraft, the home; daughters, Rene Bailey and husband, Steven, Burlingame, and Rhonda Bennett and husband, Bill, Rantoul; sons, Roy Funk and wife, Nancy, Rantoul, Ron Funk and wife, Kim, Paola, Brad McCune and wife, Kim, Scranton, and James McCune, Hutchinson; four stepsons, Paul Hutchcraft and wife, Linda, Canyon City, Colo., Douglas Edward “Ed” Hutchcraft, Pleasanton, Joel Hutchcraft and wife, Jean, Ellinwood, and David Hutchcraft and wife, Stacy, Canyon City, Colo.; a brother, Clarence Baasch Jr. and wife, April, Ottawa; a sister, Marlene Voigts and husband, Bruce, Fontana; 55 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Bowden; great-grandson, Jace Best; great-granddaughter, Aiden Best; and parents, Myrtle and Clarence Baasch Sr.
