Iím now on vacation time. I leave Thursday for Florida. Iím excited and ready to see my daughter and granddaughters. When I return, March programming at the Ottawa Library will be over and April programs will be beginning.

We are planning an April 15 class on straw weaving for children 10 to 18. There is a sign-up, so be sure to come in or call to get your name on the list.† We will be learning to make bracelets with the weaving, and then participants can work on their own to make belts or bracelets for friends and family.

We also do Storytime at the Depot. This year, as part of ďWorkiní On the RailroadĒ exhibit, we are planning Storytime for 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. April 16. The model trains will be running, and there will be someone on-hand to discuss them. If you havenít been to the Old Depot Museum, 135 Tecumseh St., lately, or if you came in December, I would encourage you to come and join us at one of our programs. The depot is a treasure here in Ottawa. There are lots of rooms to explore and many things to learn about our town and county. †

In additions to these special activities, our regular programming continues. We now are needing more babies to join us for Books and Babies. A caregiver and child from 6 months to 22 months are all that is needed. It always is more fun for children to have other children to interact with (whether they are 6 or 6 months). †

Now that Iím done detailing our coming events at the library, I can start packing for my trip. When I return, be prepared to hear all about my magnificent grandchildren.

Leanna Heth is a librarian in the childrenís department at the Ottawa Library.
