Police Department Arrests

• 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, 800 block of South Burroughs Street, Joseph Berger, 24, Pomona, on suspicion of driving under the influence and transporting an open container.

• 5:36 p.m. Saturday, near the K-33 and K-68 intersection, a 2000 Buick LeSabre driven by Wade Whitaker, 31, Wellsville, was northbound in the 3300 block of K-33 when it struck a deer.

• 3:19 p.m. Monday, 1100 block of South Ash Street, a 14-year-old Ottawa male juvenile reported he was struck while riding his bicycle by an unknown vehicle.

• 8:43 p.m. Tuesday, 2100 block of South Princeton Street, a 21 year-old Ottawa woman reported an unknown suspect scratched her car.

Theft Reports

• 10:44 a.m. Monday, Sears, 220 S. Main St., a 30-year-old Ottawa man advised an unknown person stole gasoline from a vehicle. The vehicle also was damaged in the process.

• 11:39 a.m. Monday, 700 block of East 10th Street, a 58-year-old Ottawa man reported theft of electricity from an unknown suspect.


• 11:38 a.m. Monday, 2300 block of Eisenhower Road, a 1996 Ford driven by William Hay, 87, Ottawa, was traveling eastbound and failed to yield, striking a 1996 Chevrolet driven by Laura Miller, no age or address given, who was traveling northbound. Miller’s vehicle then struck a 2011 Toyota driven by Judy Lanning, 47, Ottawa. No injuries were reported.

• 7:42 a.m. Tuesday, 1300 block of South Ash Street, a Cadillac Escalade driven by Joshua Love, 24, Ottawa, failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a Dodge Durango driven by Vicki Eckard, 48, Ottawa. No injuries were reported.

• 11:51 a.m. Monday, West 23rd Street and Eisenhower Avenue, assisted at the scene of a motor vehicle wreck.

• 6:13 p.m. Monday, 1417 S. Willow St., firefighters responded to a passenger vehicle fire.

• 6:08 p.m. Tuesday, South Main and 11th streets, firefighters responded to a single-car wreck.

• Ottawa firefighters assisted with four medical calls Tuesday.
