POMONA — West Franklin’s girls team handily achieved a win Thursday night over Oskaloosa.

“We did a good job of being patient on the offensive end,” Falcons coach Kyle Conley said.

The team had struggled early on with intensity, but Thursday night’s game showed they were on the right path, the coach said.

Sierra Miller was the Falcons’ top scorer with 16 points, but Conley was quick to note the team’s success hinged on the girls working together — with eight West Franklin players adding to the game’s scoreboard.

The Falcons (1-2) play again at 5 p.m. Friday at Valley Falls.

West Franklin (47) — Miller, 16; Whittington, 9; Steele, 8; Yelland, 6; Reed, 2; Morrison, 2; B. Shaffer, 2; Flory, 2.

Oskaloosa (20) — Miller, 8; Harding, 8; Willits, 2; Adams, 2.
