OLATHE ó The Ottawa University menís soccer team gave fourth-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University a battle Saturday before falling 1-0 in Olathe.

MidAmerica Nazarene scored the only goal in the 82nd minute off a corner kick.

The first half of the contest was played to a 0-0 tie. MidAmerica Nazarene had a 7-5 edge in shots.

Ottawa keeper Drinnan Sante finished with three saves.

The Braves (0-3-0) play 2 p.m. Saturday against Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

Lady Braves nipped

The Ottawa womenís soccer team lost 3-2 to MidAmerica Nazarene in Olathe.

The Lady Braves sliced the deficit to one in the final 25 minutes, but could not score the equalizer.

MidAmerica scored the first three goals with the third coming in the 60th minute.

Ottawa scored seven minutes later from† Angelica Tapia.

Annie Kessler notched a goal in the 81st minute to draw Ottawa within a goal.

MidAmerica had a 12-10 edge in shots and led 8-4 in shots on goal. Samantha Gitmed and Kaitlyn Stinson both appeared in goal for Ottawa. Gitmed played 61:01, tallying four saves. Stinson was in goal for 28:59 and had one save.

The Lady Braves (1-3-0) play noon Saturday against Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.
