La CYGNE — The Central Heights boys cross country team was hit by injuries in the mid-season portion of the schedule. Dillon Welch led the Vikings Thursday in the Prairie View Invitational.

“It wasn’t our best finish of the year,” Central Heights coach Phillip Pearson said. “Several of our runners are battling through some nagging injuries right now and it’s effecting our practices and carrying over to our meet results. We are right at the halfway point.  So, hopefully with a little rest we can get back on track and make a strong push toward league and regionals.”
