Eldon Rader and Edith Carter were married Dec. 28, 1952, at First Baptist Church, Ottawa.
They have three children, Lisa and her husband, Frank Harman, Upatoi, Ga., Scott and his wife, Rebecca Rader, Leawood, Kan., and Diane and her husband, Steve Johnson, Minnetonka, Minn.
They have 10 grandchildren, Kristin Harman, Sarah and her husband, Chris Baker, Frank Harman, Mark Harman, Julianne Rader, Matthew Rader, Kevin Johnson, Amy Johnson, Alexandra and her husband, Dustin Watkins, McKenzie Sumpter; and two great-grandchildren, Nathan and William Baker.
When reflecting on their years together and looking toward the future, Eldon and Edith like to recite this excerpt from a Robert Browning poem: Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made.
