Layman and Carol Miller, Ottawa, announce the engagement of Mindy Miller, Independence, Mo., to Luke Neeley, Independence, Mo.

He is the son of Mark and Cheryl Neeley, Independence, Mo.

She is a 1998 graduate of Ottawa High School and a 2002 graduate of Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She works as a kindergarten teacher at Eudora Elementary School in Eudora, Kan.

He is a 2001 graduate of Truman High School. He works as a truck driver for a local company.

Their wedding is scheduled for April 27, 2013, at Stony Point Hall in Baldwin City.
