John and Rebecca McFarland, Ottawa, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kara McFarland, Ottawa, to Chance Bulmer, Andover.

He is the son of Michael and Patricia Sprenkel, Manhattan.

Her grandparents are Fred and Patricia McFarland, Ottawa; Tressie Pittier, Shawnee; and Fred and Suzie Pfizenmaier, Clyde.

His grandparents are Lee and Peggy Bulmer, Vassar; Skip and Sherry Sharp, Wichita; and Dorothy Sprenkel, Hill City.

Their wedding is scheduled for May 25, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Ottawa.
