He is a 2010 graduate of Ottawa High School and a Troop 74 Eagle Scout.
His military carrier started with boot camp at the Naval Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. He then attended Naval Nuclear Machinist Mate ‘A’ school, followed by Nuclear Power School, Charleston, S.C.
After completing both of these demanding programs, he was transferred to the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Ballston Spa, N.Y., where he became a qualified Naval Nuclear Engineering Power Plant Operator, or ‘NUKE’ for short.
In less than 16 months, he has been transformed from a high school graduate to being in the top 10 percent of the U.S. Navy.
