The Jan. 13 meeting was called to order by Jake Dryden. Roll call was “My favorite ice cream.”
Flag salute was lead by Max Cannady. Kierstyn Blaufuss led in the Happy Birthday song. The minutes were approved as read. Tristan Davis read communications from Princeton Methodist Church thanking the club for the goodie tray and donation. The club also had a thank you from the extension office for its goodie tray. No bills were presented.
Report of officers included a treasurer’s report by Kamryn Stinebaugh. Reporter Tristan Davis reported he sent the report to both the Ottawa and Garnett papers with the group picture being published in The Ottawa Herald. The parliamentarian report was given by Megan on “Debating a Motion.”
Committee reports included one regarding community service, in which members will be notified when a date is set for the nursing home. T-shirt ideas were tabled until old business.
Leader’s report reminded youth about District Club Days Feb. 15 at West Franklin High School. Volunteer trainings were discussed; 4-H camp dates as well as 4-H ambassador dates were recognized.
Old business consisted of voting for a T-shirt design and color. The front of the shirt will have the club name in cursive as well as wording on the back. A purple color was chosen for this year.
The theme for the evening was “Flannel Shirt Night.” Bright colors of different shirt patterns were seen across the room.
Sarah Miller led in a game of musical chairs following the adjournment of the meeting.
