McFarland led the University’s women’s basketball team with 20 points and 18 rebounds in two games the week of Dec. 31. She posted seven points and nine rebounds in a 60-44 win over Saint Joseph’s and collected 13 points and nine rebounds in a 53-47 loss to Indianapolis.
Rockhurst’s Hawk-of-the-Week honor is given to one male and one female student athlete based on their athletic achievements that week.

McFarland is one of 293 student athletes at Rockhurst. The university offers 11 varsity sports teams along with club and intramural leagues. All Rockhurst athletic teams compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. This NCAA Division II conference boasts 16 schools in five states — Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Wisconsin.
