The Miss Sweet 16 contest, which highlights 10 local teens and their parents, is underway in Wellsville.
The contestants decorate containers and place them in the Mid America Bank and the Landmark National Bank in Wellsville. The containers will be at a booth on Main Street and at the High School Commons area the day of Wellsville Days until 3 p.m. when the voting ends.
People are to vote for their favorite contestant by putting money in the containers. The contestant with the most funds wins the title of Miss Sweet 16.
Contestants and their parents include Victoria Broers, daughter of Kendall and Valerie Broers; Maddison Christian, daughter of Ronald Christian II; Jessie Ewing, daughter of Jeffrey Ewing and Lori Ann Ewing; Lindy Manguso, daughter of Kris Allred and Bart Manguso; Madi McAfee, daughter of Jeff and Sarah McAfee; Mallory Moss, daughter of Jamie and Tammy Moss, and Kevin and Mandy Henry; Kelcey Nelson, daughter of Lisa Harris; Samantha Jo Paramino, daughter of Rick and Cindy Paramino; Bayli Price, daughter of Guy and Kim Price; and Brielle Robbs, daughter of Kim and Dave Robbs.
The contest is sponsored by the Friends of the Library Foundation for the Wellsville City Library. The funds raised this year are specified for new computers and children’s books. For more information on the contest call the library at (785) 883-2870.
