The September monthly campout of the Chippewa Good Sams was at the Wolf Creek group campground at Pomona Lake. There were 10 rigs, 19 members and guests Chuck and LaDean Sypher present. Don and Marilyn Hay visited Saturday afternoon, as well as former members Lee and Paggy Bulmer Friday afternoon and Frank and Carol Weers Saturday afternoon.

The chapter had the election of officers for the coming year. Election results were: David and Norma Bird, president-elect; Art and Vera Allan, vice-president-elect; Sherril Unruh, secretary/treasurer-elect; Jim and Rosemary, wagon masters-elect

There was discussion on the upcoming Kansas State Good Sams Samboree, which will be Oct. 4-7 at the state fairgrounds in Hutchinson. Those who are able were encouraged to attend, as this is the 40th anniversary of the Kansas State Sams.

Jim Bauman, president, reminded everyone that the October campout will be when the club collects articles, books and clothing for veterans. Homemade cookies is another item that they like to receive. Everyone will bring their items to the campout. These will be taken to the Veterans Hospital in Topeka. Any and all veterans in the chapter should bring pictures of them in their military uniforms to view.

Hosts for the weekend were Kenny and Bessie Sleichter and Carl and Marilyn Rice.

The next campout in October will again be at the Wold Creek group area.
