The Wellsville Crescent Club met Nov. 13 at the home of Ginny Neis. President Sandra Hausler welcomed all, thanked the hostesses and read the thought of the day. The program, “Recent First Ladies,” was presented by Olive Buehler. The first ladies featured were Rosalyn Carter, Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush. Buehler related a short biography of each: place of birth, family, schooling, special interests, charitable activities, how and when they met their husbands and their life in the White House. They all were exemplary and interesting first ladies.

Twelve members answered roll call with their assigned subjects. Get well cards were passed around and signed by all. The club voted to give money to Jean Hopkins, who is in charge of cards and flowers, for expenses she incurs. The club also voted to give the club’s Christmas donation to the Wellsville Library. With consent of all, the December meeting will be changed to Dec. 11. Olive Buehler will bring two Santas to be raffled off with the money raised to go to Hope House and to the club’s treasury. Carolyn Silvius will host the next meeting, and she reminded members to wear their Christmas socks.

The meeting was adjourned to enjoy refreshments served by co-hostesses Ginny Neis and Midge Casselman.
