Ronald Huffman was attempting to drive the Gator up a slope in a wooded area about 4:30 p.m. at 3597 Haskell Road when the utility vehicle rolled off the side of the slope, trapping him under it, according to a Franklin County Sheriff’s report.
First responders from Ohio, Cutler and Lincoln-Ottawa-Harrison township fire departments extracted Huffman from under the vehicle. He was transported by air ambulance to Overland Park Regional with undisclosed injuries, the sheriff’s report said.
Rose Huffman, 69, who was a passenger on the vehicle, was not injured in the rollover, the report said.
A hospital spokesperson said about 11 a.m. Thursday that she could not give out specific information about Huffman’s status, but confirmed he was a patient in the intensive care unit.
