“Both teams played very hard tonight,” Vikings coach Scott Lane said Thursday. “We looked much better than we did Monday and I can definitely see this team coming together and learning to play with one another.”
Coffeyville outscored Central Heights 40-35.
“Our zone defense was a lot better tonight and our press break looked better than it did Monday,” Lane said. “I told the girls that this may not show up as a win in the scorebook, but it definitely felt like a win to me.
“We look forward to trying to go out and get our first win at 3 p.m. Friday in Osawatomie.”
