Kenneth William “Bud” Page, 88, Lane, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Golden Heights Living Center in Garnett.
Visitation was planned for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, with funeral services at 10:30 a.m. today, Jan. 3, 2013, both at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home, Osawatomie. Burial is to follow at Lane Cemetery, Lane.
Bud was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Olathe. He was the youngest of three children born to Roy William Page and Leona Agnes (Daniels) Page.
He attended school in Antioch, Osawatomie and Lane. He graduated from Lane High School with the class of 1944.
He married Eleanor A. Stevenson April 10, 1947, at the Methodist Church in Ottawa. They became the parents of two daughters. Bud and Eleanor were married for 65 years.
They made their home on a farm in Lane. Bud was a farmer and a stockman. He also worked for Bill Sanders on his farm from 1982 until 2002.
Bud was active in many noteworthy activities. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Lane; on the Lane school board; Lane cemetery board; president and vice president of the Lane Fair board for many years; a livestock leader for the Pottawatomie Valley 4-H; and a member of the Lane United Methodist Church.
He loved to work on his farm, enjoyed fishing and, most of all, he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Sue Kraus, who died June 25, 1996; and his two sisters, Carol Taranto and Mary Jane McCloskey.
Survivors include his wife Eleanor, of the home; one daughter, Darlene Kay and husband, Joe Hay, Lane; three grandchildren, Kenny Roberts and wife, Tonya, Lane, Sandy Shippy and husband, Bryan, Lane, and Jimmy Hay and wife, Christi, Paola; and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Roberts, Lindsay Shippy, Landen Hay, Brianna Shippy, Lily Hay, Lawson Hay and Lucy Hay.
