Harold M. Forrer, 91, Topeka, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.
A funeral ceremony is planned for 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. Harold will lie after 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where family members will receive friends 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
He was born May 12, 1921, in LeLoup, the son of John and Otie (Miller) Forrer.
He was a graduate of Ottawa High School.
He lived in Ottawa, until moving to Topeka in 1946.
Forrer was employed by Santa Fe Railroad in Topeka for 37 years, retiring in 1981.
He was an active member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Topeka, where he served as business manager from 1981 to 1998 and deacon.
Harold married Agnes Marie Sassaman May 24, 1942, in Ottawa. She preceded him in death Nov. 19, 2004.
Survivors include three children, Rosine Feist and husband, William, Birmingham, Ala., David Forrer and wife, Sheila, Holiday Island, Ark., and Madeline Ribble and husband, Terry, Scranton, Penn.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stanley H. Forrer; and two brothers, John and Ernest Forrer.
