Roberta Moore, 91, Ottawa, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Vintage Park in Ottawa.
Family and friends will meet for a celebration of Roberta’s life at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 2, 2013, at Vintage Park Assisted Living Center of Ottawa.
She was born Friday, April 15, 1921, the daughter of Robert Steven and Nora Elizabeth (McKinney) Richards.
Roberta lived in Ottawa since 2006, moving from Hutchinson, where she lived most of her life, also living in Baxter Springs.
She graduated from Baxter Springs High School with the class of 1939.
On April 18, 1949, Roberta was united in marriage with Edward Hughes Moore in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death Sept. 29, 2001.
Roberta worked as an independent insurance agent for 39 years with Wade Patton Insurance in Hutchinson, retiring in 1986.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Moore; son-in-law, Ray Hunley; parents, Robert and Nora Richards; three brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Geurian and husband, Robert, Hutchinson, Charlene Hunley, Columbus, and Melissa Fairbanks and husband, Robert, Pomona; five grandchildren, John Geurian and wife, Kaylene, Hutchinson, Lonnie Geurian and wife, Vergi, Hutchinson, Mike Hunley and wife, Janet, Columbus, Steve Harper and wife, Tara, Gladstone, Mo., and Sean Harper and fiancé, Brandis, Hutchinson; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Vitas Hospice or Prairie Paws Animal Shelter through Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa KS 66067.
