Frankye Jean Thornbrugh, 92, Ottawa, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Richmond.
Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, Williamsburg. Visitation is planned for 9 a.m. Thursday. Friends may pay their respects to Frankye 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment is planned for Mt. Hope Cemetery in Williamsburg.
She was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Williamsburg to William Franklin Wiscombe and Nancy Pearl (Shaffer) Wiscombe.
Frankye lived in Ottawa since 1996, moving to the city from the Williamsburg area where she had lived all her life.
She attended Williamsburg schools.
Frankye was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Frankye was united in marriage to Richard E. Thornbrugh Oct. 10, 1936, at Garnett, Kan. He preceded her in death March 31, 1983.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Hetrick, Tecumseh; son, Richard D. Thornbrugh and his wife, Joan, Lawson, Mo.; four daughters, Virginia VanValkenburg and her husband, Harry, Independence, Mo., Sandra Byron and her husband, Rich, Texas City, Texas, Connie Norris and her husband, Ken, Lawrence, and Kathie Romstedt, Ottawa; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. and Nancy P. Wiscombe; brother, Emery “Bill” Wiscombe; two sisters, Nadine Williamson and Irma Carpenter; and son-in-law, Lawrence Hetrick.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Williamsburg United Methodist Church through Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory St., Ottawa KS 66067.
