Mable L. Burgess, 88, Olathe, Kan., died Oct. 1, 2012, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe.
Private family graveside services are planned.
She was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Homewood, Kan., the daughter of John and Elizabeth Cable Fletcher.
Mable was united in marriage to Charles Wayne Burgess in 1940.
She grew up and attended school in the Quenemo area, moving to Cameron County, Texas, after her marriage. Mable and her husband then moved to Olathe, Kan., in 1965, where she had lived since.
She was a member of Quenemo Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Burgess, Quenemo, Kan., Orville Burgess, LaPorte, Texas, and Roy Burgess, Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Joyce Lefebvre, Putnam, Conn., and Shirley Moll, Olathe, Kan.; one sister, Margie Lanier, Ottawa, Kan.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; one son, Don Burgess; and one brother, Roy Fletcher.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donors choice through Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory St., Ottawa KS 66067.
