Elmer “Dutch” Malburg, 94, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Ottawa Retirement Village.
Graveside services are planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg. The family is expected to receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa.
He was born July 26, 1918, in Homewood, the son of John and Flossie (Gray) Malburg.
He was a lifelong Homewood and Williamsburg resident. Dutch was a self-employed truck driver. He enjoyed gardening, watching television, country music and working on engines.
Dutch was united in marriage to Dorothy Brown Oct. 12, 1962, in Miami, Okla. She preceded him in death June 13, 1984.
He then married Donna Steinman May 29, 1986, in Oklahoma. She survives.
Survivors also include three stepchildren, Scott Chapman, Ottawa, Penny Kaub, Ottawa, and Bruce Chapman, Tampa; one sister, Kathryn Malburg, Ottawa; nieces and nephews, Ron Malburg, Dudley Malburg, Dale Malburg, Junior Malburg and Rita Pollom; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Dutch was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carolyn (Carolee) Kitchen; and one brother, Elvin (Shorty) Malburg.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Williamsburg Community Building or to the Williamsburg Library through Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory St., Ottawa KS 66067.
