Jean E. Ehly, 88, Ottawa, died Nov. 12, 2012, at Ottawa Retirement Village.
The family is planning private services.
She was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Roland O. Harding and Verna (Wilkinson) Harding.
She moved with her family as a child to Hastings, Neb., graduating from Hastings High School with the class of 1964. She then attained her L.P.N. license and was a surgical nurse for more than 48 years.
In 2003, Jean moved to Ottawa and lived there since. Jean found her greatest joy in life when she was older. She loved to spend time fishing. She always was ready for the next trip.
Jean was a member of the Eastern Star of Hastings, Neb.
Survivors include a son, Richard Kohout and his wife, Dorothy, Burlingame; brother, Jim Harding, Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Ruth Duggan, Buhl, Idaho, and Betty Brown, Meriden, Idaho; granddaughter, Kathy Alguire, Las Vegas; two grandsons, Mike Kohout, Perrysburg, Ohio, and Thomas Kohout, Olathe; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice through Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory St., Ottawa KS 66067.
