Mary Alice Reese, 77, Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in the Wellsville Cemetery.
Mary Alice Reese was born May 7, 1935, in Mountain View, Mo., the fourth daughter of 11 children to Lester and Bertha (Farrah) Smotherman.
Mary Alice graduated from high school in Mountain View.
She married Kenith C. Reese July 17,1952. They were blessed with six children. They later divorced.
After a busy career as a housewife and mother, Mary Alice opened a new chapter in her life by becoming a CMA at Wellsville Manor where she compassionately cared for the elderly as if they were her own family. During her retirement years, Mary Alice devoted her time to caring for her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Dale Reese and his wife, Miri, Wellsville, Bob Reese and his wife, Debra, Wellsville, Diane Speer and Cleo Speer, Wellsville, Abner Reese, Jackson, Mont., Cindy Moore and her husband, Tim, Wellsville, Steve Reese and his wife, Rene, Wellsville; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; her two sisters; eight brothers and many nieces and nephews.
