Franklin County commissioners voted unanimously to approve a lease agreement with Ransom Memorial Hospital for Suite 3 in the Franklin County Office Annex, 1428 S. Main St., Ottawa. The 61-month lease is set to start Feb. 1 and run through Feb. 28, 2018.
Dr. Takeshi Seto, who specializes in pulmonology and internal medicine, has joined the staff at the hospital’s 1301 S. Main St. location, leaving Suite 3 vacant. The hospital’s desire was to take over that lease from Seto, Johnson said.
With the agreement, Ransom will pay $2,111.04 per month ($25,332.45 annually) to Franklin County for 2,145 square feet of space in the building. The rate is the same the hospital pays for its other suites, Johnson said. Lease payments from the building’s tenants helped pay for the recently completed Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.
All of the tenants in the annex building, which includes several county offices community corrections, the county health department and Ottawa Family Physicians, have tax-exempt status.
