Three boys were arrested Sunday in connection with a string of thefts from unlocked vehicles last weekend in north Ottawa.
The boys, ages 12, 14 and 16, are suspected of stealing items from unlocked vehicles Saturday through early Sunday in the 600 and 900 blocks of North Main Street, the 500 and 1100 blocks of North Hickory Street and the 1100 block of North Cedar Street, according to an Ottawa Police Department report.
“Anyone in that area who may not have reported items taken from their unlocked vehicles should contact the police department,” Capt. Adam Weingartner, with the police department, said in an email. “All of the vehicles were unlocked. Residents are reminded to always lock vehicles when parked. A locked vehicle is a deterrent, and thieves will most likely target the unlocked vehicle first.”
