Franklin County commissioners agreed Wednesday to rescind a resolution that previously banned the Franklin County clerk from direct communication with the county’s Emergency Management Services department.
Without discussion, commissioners voted 5-0 to rescind Resolution 11-34, which was passed in September 2011. The resolution stipulated that all business-related communications between the county clerk and the county ambulance department must have first been sent to Franklin County Administrator Lisa Johnson. The resolution stated the only exceptions to the communication policy were 911 emergency calls.
The now-moot resolution stemmed from an “investigation regarding human resources issues,” The Herald reported previously.
Shari Perry previously served as county clerk and was unseated during the 2012 primary election by Janet Paddock, who now holds the office.
Nick Robbins is the Franklin County Emergency Medical Services chief.
