The Phil & Pam Morgan Family is planning a gospel concert, as well as sharing a story about their faith in God and how He changed their lives, Earline McGinnis said.
The family is set for a 7 p.m. performance Sunday at Wellsville Baptist Church, 217 Main St., Wellsville.
“I think Sunday morning they’re doing a concert in Wichita so this would be on their way home [to Lee’s Summit, Mo.],” McGinnis, member of the special events committee at the church, said. “When they asked to come we were really thrilled to have them because they’re such a good group and they have such good voices and a good testimony.”
The husband-and-wife team have been singing together since 1996, according to a press release. A car wreck in June 2000 put their performances on hiatus.
“They’d had this serious car wreck and were told Pam would never walk again and God raised her up and it was a miraculous healing that she had,” McGinnis said. “We’re interested in getting the word out because we felt like [Pam] had a testimony that people would enjoy.”
Top surgeons said Pam would never feel or move most of her body again, according to the press release. The couple immediately began a prayer chain from the website, PhilandPamMorgan.com. Not long after the prayer chain was started, Pam regained some feeling and movement began to gradually return to her limbs, according to the press release.
“When tragedy struck our family, God was the only one who got us through,” Pam Morgan said in the press release. “My prayer is that through our story and music, others will be motivated to walk with God every day, no matter what life brings.”
Guests are welcome to come to the service and enjoy a night of gospel music and hear a heart-touching story, McGinnis said.
“There are good things going on in this world especially when you see so much bad stuff, so when you have this it’s encouraging,” McGinnis said. “It’s a testimony to God’s grace, and we felt it would be something positive.”
