Matthew Hanusa has been tapped as OU’s new associate vice president of enrollment management. He comes to OU with more than 15 years of experience in higher education and project management, the university said in a press release.
Hanusa previously served as the campus director at DeVry University’s Portland, Ore., campus, where for the past two years he led more than 30 personnel in successfully improving new student enrollment and retention by 15 percent, OU’s release said. He also worked at DeVry’s Denver and Kansas City campuses, as well as started his career in project management/business development at Qwest and AT&T in Omaha. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bellevue University, a master’s of business administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, and now is pursuing his doctoral degree.
“We are very excited to have Matt join our team,” Keith Johnson, OU chief operating officer, said. “We are confident he will make a positive impact as we continue working toward our goals in Phase II of Ottawa University’s Vision 2020.”
In his new role, Hanusa will be responsible for the leadership and development of the enrollment team and will collaborate on all enrollment activities for OU’s residential campus, the university said. He also will lead the enrollment and student services activities in OU’s Adult, Professional and Online Studies division.
“Ottawa University has a rich history and plays a distinctive role within the private non-profit university system in Kansas,” Hanusa said. “I am amazed at the various degree, activity, and athletic programs, the experiences, and the opportunities that Ottawa University has to offer its students, graduates, the extended community, and beyond. It is truly an honor to be here, and I look forward to serving the university as part of the enrollment management leadership team.”
