The Vikings played a couple more offensive plays to sneak out a 40-36 victory over the Falcons.
“A very hard fought game defensively for both teams,” Central Heights coach Rusty Cannady said. “Not a lot of offense, but none the less, it was a pretty entertaining game.”
Cannady said the Vikings were looking to improve defensively.
“Going into the game our main goal was to play better team defense and to try to shut down Brady Geist,” Cannady said. “Brady is probably one of the better players in our area. He can flat out score.
“Tristan Davis will not show up in the stat sheet very much, but defensively he did as good as job on Brady as I have seen in a long time. Tristan held him scoreless in the first half.”
The coach said the whole team picked up the defensive intensity.
“As a team, we were alert and more aggressive than our last few games,” Cannady said. “We communicated as a team and looked out for one another. Tyler Hendron and Zach McAfee played one of their better games of the year.
Jordan Horstick led the Vikings with 14 points. Matt Gray netted 14 points for the Falcons.
