The Vikings and West Franklin went the distance before Central Heights prevailed, 42-37.
“Another exciting game for the Lady Vikings,” Central Heights coach Scott Lane said.
“We played with poise for most of the game and hit a lot of key free throws down the stretch.”
West Franklin coach Kyle Conley said it was a tough loss.
“We played very hard and left everything on the floor,” Conley said.
“I am proud of how my girls played. We struggled to get to the free-throw line.”
Central Heights won the game at the line with the Falcons within a possession in the final few seconds of the game.
“We had plenty of opportunities but just could not get them to fall,” Conley said.
“It’s tough to lose a game that way, but Scott and his team played hard and made plays when they needed too.”
The game was close from start to finish.
“The game was well played by both teams,” Lane said.
“Coach Conley has his girls playing hard and shooting the ball well.”
Brianna Erhart paced the Vikings with 19 points. Kenzie Hayard netted 10. Lane said Erhart continues to improve and has shot the ball well.
Emily Reed led the Falcons with 10 points.
