The Eagles scored a 49-35 victory over Kansas City Christian.
“We shot the ball well on Saturday and rebounded better than we had in a while,” Wellsville coach Brock Campbell said. “It was good to get a win in the Top Gun Tournament.”
Erica McTaggart led the Eagles with 18 points. Moriah Kayhill tossed in 13 points.
Anderson County lost to Piper, 51-25, in the fifth-place game. Bonner Springs won the title with a 41-40 win over Baldwin.
Wellsville plays today at home against Iola.

MOUND CITY — The Central Heights girls basketball team has caught fire. The Vikings limited Jayhawk-Linn to 12 points in the final three quarters Friday in Mound City.
The Vikings won 33-21.
“We started a little flat but once we settled down we played some of the best defense we have played all season,” Central Heights coach Scott Lane said. “We held them to three field goals in the second half and only one point in the third quarter. This team is gaining confidence in themselves and becoming a better defensive team with every game.”
Brianna Erhart paced Central Heights with 13 points.
Central Heights plays today at Osawatomie.
