The Falcons were in a low-scoring game with a lead heading into the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s game against Hartford in Pomona.
The visitors took advantage of its free-throw opportunities in the fourth quarter and West Franklin was outscored in the final period. Hartford defeated the Falcons, 30-24.
“We were not disciplined,” West Franklin coach Kyle Conley said. “They did nothing to hurt us on the offensive end, but we just kept fouling.
“The fouls allowed them to dictate the game. We will use this as a learning experience and will get better.”
West Franklin plays Friday at home against Lebo.

OSAWATOMIE — The Central Heights girls basketball team was cooled off Tuesday by Osawatomie.
The Trojans scored 40 points in the middle two quarters en route to a 57-28 win over the Vikings in Osawatomie.
“We had an off night in so many phases of the game,” Central Heights coach Scott Lane said. “Our defense wasn’t aggressive enough and our help side defense was awful.
“We did not attack on the offensive end and our screens were horrible. They shot lights out and we could never respond.”
Brianna Erhart paced the Vikings with 14 points.
Central Heights plays Friday at home against Wellsville.
