Ottawa scored one in the second and fourth innings, six in the third and five in the sixth in the opener. Jake Kolenda was the winning pitcher. He went six innings. He gave up three hits and had nine strikeouts.
Tyler Christensen, Greg Wisner and Jacob Loucks had three hits apiece. Kaylem Quinn, Nick Deichler, and Dustin Balmer had two. Loucks drove in three runs and had a home run. Deichler and Balmer had two RBIs each.
The nightcap went back and forth. Ottawa led 2-0 after the top of the first inning. The Tigers answered with four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Ottawa scored one in the third and four in the fifth to take a 7-4 lead. The Tigers scored two in fifth and sixth innings.
Wisner went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. Cole Horn drove in two and scored one. Balmer also drove in two.
Bret Stratton pitched five innings. He had three strikeouts.
