Saturday’s doubleheader was moved to Emporia’s Trusler Sports Complex because of the rain that swept through Ottawa in the morning. Ottawa was swept by Tabor, 5-1 and 3-2.
The Ottawa softball doubleheader between the Lady Braves and Tabor was postponed. No rescheduled date has been announced.
Tabor led the opener from start to finish with two runs in the top of the first inning.
Ottawa’s lone run came in the second off a home run by Kaylem Quinn, who led Ottawa with two hits.
Jacob Loucks, an Emporia native, pitched in five innings. He had four strikeouts.
Ottawa scored twice in the bottom of the first inning of the nightcap for a 2-1 lead. Tabor scored twice in the second and held off Ottawa the rest of the game.
Kyle Pener, Quinn, Dustin Balmer and Nick Deichler each had a hit. Josh Reynolds pitched a complete game.
