Percy shot a 76 Monday to win the Paola Invitational.
“I could not be happier,” Central Heights coach Phillip Pearson said. “I knew he was capable of it. It is definitely good for the school.”
Pearson said Percy stays mentally strong during the round.
“It helps keep him together,” Pearson said. “He’s never in big trouble.”
Percy made good on his practice round Friday. Pearson said the Paola course has a few holes where you can’t hit it right down the middle and there is strategy involved to attack those holes.
“He played well in the practice round,” Pearson said. “He scrambled well.”
The next tournament is April 18 at Spring Hill.
