The Vikings swept Burlingame, 5-3 and 6-3.
Whitney Kraus paced Central Heights with two hits in the opener. Katelyn Castleberry, Kirby Laird, Allison Schultz, Lindsey Folsom, Hallie Brockus and Stegner each had an RBI.
Sam Stegner went the distance. She tossed a five-hitter and had seven strikeouts. She had seven strikeouts in the nightcap.
“She has exhibited mental toughness as she continues to pitch around errors, and she has also shown phenomenal control,” Central Heights coach Kent Schulte said. “On the season, Sam has pitched 56 2/3 innings, striking out 68 and walking only two.”
In the second game, the Vikings were paced by Kenzie Hayward with two hits and two RBIs. Whitney Kraus had two hits, scored two runs and had two RBIs.
Schulte said Kraus and Kirby Laird each made outstanding defensive plays in both games. He said Schultz and Laird came through with two-out RBIs to tack on runs late in each game.
Central Heights (8-2) plays today at Iola.
