The boys finished fourth with 119 points behind De Soto (24), Baldwin (59) and Paola (101).
“The boys competed very well which is a step forward,” Ottawa coach Chris Kornhaus said. “Over the history of this meet, we have had a tendency to be on the timid side.
“The boys were determined to show that they belonged and they certainly accomplished that. They continue to improve and that makes next week’s regional meet something to look forward to.”
The girls were sixth with 146 points.
“Our girls squad really worked together well but in this league you have to have someone go out a get a low number,” Kornhaus said. “We just don’t have that right now. Also, we need for the girls to get healthy before next week.”
Daniel White paced the boys in 13th place. Josh Christian posted a personal-best time.
“Daniel White ran the best league meet race of his career,” Kornhaus said. “Josh Christian continues to come on as he had another PR.”
