Kyler Grimes-Hopkins scored both of Ottawa’s goals. The first broke a scoreless tie in the 71st minute. Friends tied the match with a goal in the 89th minute.
It took nearly 10 minutes of overtime when Grimes-Hopkins scored past two defenders with just seconds left in overtime.
Ottawa keeper Drinnan Sante had four saves. The Braves improved to 11-5 and 6-1.
The Lady Braves remained in second place behind Kansas Wesleyan with a 2-0 victory.
Autumn Surage and Annie Kessler scored for Ottawa. Surage’s goal came in the first half, while Kessler scored off a free kick in the 55th minute.
Ottawa (11-5, 5-2) controlled play with a 23-9 advantage in shots and 8-1 in shots on goal.
Lady Braves goalkeeper Erin Stengel earned her seventh shutout of the season.
