The Lady Braves opened the 2012-13 season with more the same. Ottawa had a cold shooting game in a 69-36 loss to No. 3 College of Ozarks Tuesday at Wilson Field House.
Ottawa shot 24 percent (12-for-49) from the floor and was 2-for-9 from behind the 3-point line. College of the Ozarks went 26-for-60 from the floor (43 percent) and were 5-for-12 from the 3-point line. The Bobcats out rebounded Ottawa 46-29, tallying 17 offensive rebounds.
The Lady Braves, despite shooting a woeful 16 percent (4-25) in the first half, trailed 24-14 at halftime.
The Bobcats ended the first half on a 9-2 run and continued it in the second half.
The visitors shot 47 percent from the field in the second half en route to a 45-point second half.
Ottawa’s biggest deficit was 34 points at 64-30 late in the game.
The Lady Braves did not have a player in double figures. Junior forward Amber Ramsey paced Ottawa with eight points, seven rebounds and four steals. Morgan Grammer netted six points. April Dowell snared six rebounds.
