KCAC meet in Ahearn
The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference’s second indoor conference meet will be at KSU’s Ahearn Field House, the site of Saturday’s all-comers meet.
The meet will be Feb. 18-19 and include 19 events.
There are benefits to the athletes and fans with more seating at the Kansas State facility.
“The Ahearn Field House facility offers the conference’s student-athletes the opportunity to compete on a full 200-meter, synthetic surfaced track along with similarly surfaced runways for the both the vertical and horizontal jumps as they compete for conference honors as well as strive to meet the qualifying standards for the NAIA National Indoor Championships to be held later this winter,” former McPherson College sports information director Carol Swenson said.
“2012 was a great inaugural event and 2013 should be even better.”
The track offers a big-time feel to it
“The opportunity for our student athletes to compete in a meet at a quality facility like Ahearn on top of being a championship meet will make things very exciting,” Sterling track coach Jack Dillard said.
