The Lady Eagles fell at Eudora Friday 36-19.
“We just struggled to score points all night long,” Campbell, head coach, said. “I thought we played pretty well defensively, only giving up 36 points. We just didn’t score enough to win.”
Ashley Sparks led the team in scoring, putting up 10 points for the Lady Eagles. Also for the team, Karly Patton scored three, and Hollie Geist and Emily Newhouse made two each.
Wellsville’s next game is Jan. 3. The girls will take on Jefferson North at 4:30 p.m.

“We just couldn’t knock down the jump shot,” he said. “The kids played really hard and did a good job. We are very pleased with how they played defensively.”
Conley said the team has a tough schedule after Christmas break. West Franklin (2-4) plays at Northern Heights at 4:45 p.m. Jan. 7.
“They are a quality team,” Conley said. “They play very well and rely on their press to get baskets. We’ll have 10 practices to get back into shape after Christmas break.”

Metro Academy 43, Central Heights 35
The Lady Vikings could not recover from a slow start and fell on the road Friday against Metro Academy 43-35. Central Heights (3-3) found themselves down 18-4 at the end of the first quarter.
“We started out so slow and couldn’t catch a pass to save our life,” head coach Scott Lane said. “Tami Schaefer came in and was an immediate spark and got us going.”
Schaefer scored five points in the losing effort. Lane said the team battled back to within four in the final quarter, but couldn’t quite pull out the win.
Central Heights stays on the road for its next game at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at Iola. Lane said the girls will be prepared.
“I am proud of the girls for the 3-3 start before Christmas,” he said. “We are going to take some time off and get back at it and get better in a week. We look forward to league play in the coming weeks.”
